Remember, remember the Fifth of November,
The Gunpowder Treason and Plot,
I know of no reason
Why the Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.
Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes, t'was his intent
To blow up the King and Parli'ment.
Three-score barrels of powder below
To prove old England's overthrow;
By God's providence he was catch'd (or by God's mercy*)
With a dark lantern and burning match.
Holloa boys, holloa boys, let the bells ring. (Holla*)
Holloa boys, holloa boys, God save the King!
And what should we do with him? Burn him!

I celebrated it by getting and reading the V for Vendetta graphic novel. 'S'good, but preferred the film.

LUUUUV the movie!
Soo... now it's the day after.
Got all the smokey sulfuric smells out of your hair? (grins)
And..
Did that roundtuit work? Do I need to send a bigger one?
;)

Managed to avoid fireworks displays. Ain't many mid-week, big displays tend to get alloted to the weekend. The folks go, but don't do it for me. All that staring level then craning the neck up to follow a fizzing rocket for its BANG and explosive colours, rinse repeat. I'd rather rub my eyes really hard so I see dancing lights, it's easier.
Bah humbug. :p

I know what you mean Mynach. I live about 2km from a large park, where they have fireworks...not once..not twice..but THREE times a year! We have the usual Independance Day fireworks, but then in the Fall there is an international fireworks convention that puts on two nights of firework shows. The first year was cool..and the second not so bad, but after 10 years it is getting very old. The windows in my house rattle with every KABOOM and the international shows last well over 2 hours!
Oh well, I guess one persons joy is another person's huge explosion going off in the back yard.....:p

Blimey, that sounds grim. I already have a hankering for double-glazed windows, that'd seal it for me.

My place is on the 3rd floor, and I over look a park (which is behind the cemetery), so I get to see the fireworks while sitting at my desk. Definately better than going out in the rain and craning your neck for a gander.
